What is Songtreads?
Songtreads are a Core item, not a catching instrument. Winning Quick on Your Feet gives them, and the Songwalker badge marks that. Selecting the boot tile makes the boots glow and shows notes at your feet. Echo Step, from Shax's later race, adds a second jump while these boots are active. The first boots alone are only a running jump.

How do you get Songtreads?
Finish Tamer in Training with Halden at level 25 or higher, then win Shax's race.
How do you use Songtreads?
Reselect them at the ledge if the glow is gone. Run and jump the crystal gap into Bluestone Caverns. Do not look for a double jump until Echo Step is actually rewarded.
